Gaylord, Mich. –
Deerfield.com®, a leading provider of Internet optimization and connectivity solutions, today completed its third year of participation in the Otsego County Relay For Life. This 24-hour event supports the American Cancer Society and the fight to find a cure for cancer.
“Cancer is a far-reaching disease that is close to nearly every heart on the Deerfield.com team,” said Mike Deerfield, CEO of Deerfield.com. “Deerfield.com, as a company, is a family made up of individuals faced with daily challenges and victories. It is this attitude that prompts our commitment to the Relay For Life as an opportunity to make a real difference against cancer; to transform the challenge of cancer into a victory.”
About Relay For Life
In 1985, Dr. Gordon Klatt and the American Cancer Society began the Relay For Life in Tacoma, Washington. Since then the event has grown into the nationwide signature activity for the American Cancer Society, community developed and volunteer driven.
Susan Hellenberg, co-chair of the Otsego County Relay For Life Committee said, “For me, the Relay For Life offers the chance to support and comfort cancer survivors, while providing hope for their future. Companies, such as Deerfield.com, continue to provide outstanding support and perpetuate the promise of a cure. Contributions directly fund research efforts that make erasing cancer an attainable goal.”
The 2001 Deerfield.com Relay For Life Team, for the second year in a row, raised over $15,000 on behalf of the American Cancer Society.
